The Transformation

After I read some books from Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump (Rich Dad, Poor Dad, The Cashflow Quadrant, Why We Want You Get Rich, The Art of Comeback, and some more) I realized that I had a wrong mindset regarding business and money. From those books I discovered that:

- There are no safe secure jobs on the “Information Age”
- Big companies are taking technical jobs abroad
- The dollar is not real money since 1971 and since then is loosing its value
- There is very little tax protection for employees and small-business owners.
- US Government will have a big problem when baby-boomers start getting retired, and this happening right now
- Pension plans are not the same for you and me as they were for our parents or grand parents.

Summarizing: Unless we develop a way, as business owners or investors, to create passive income we’ll not be able to live our lives with dignity, or even retire. There’s a pernicious system already assembled (and you and me are in) to put money in our pockets every week or month and, almost instantaneously, to take it off again. I woke up for this fact and since then I started trying to do my part to succeed and win this unfair battle against the system.

The key factor in all this process is the mindset: I was wrong as you may be right now. Thank God, those books and some seminars opened my eyes. Now I know that unless I have a passive income, a positive cash flow – in other words, my money working for me, instead I working for my money (or someone else’s money) – I will not be able to give to myself and my family a good life. This is a mathematical fact!

The Big Surprise

My biggest surprise while reading Trump and Kiyosaki books was to see what they wrote about network marketing. Both said that if they lose everything they would restart in the network marketing field. What? I read that again and again until I was sure my eyes were right. How could they tell such thing with so many bad experiences people have gotten in network marketing? Well, doesn’t matter their beliefs about such business model: I went thru that experience, I didn’t lose my money but my profits were inexpressive, not considering the amount of time spent.

Then, while reading the book “The Cashflow Quadrant” from Kiyosaki, I found the reason why those both multi-millionaires where betting on that business model. On that book Kiyosaki explains that are basically three types of business models today: the conventional business, the franchises, and the network marketing. Explaining about each of them, he makes clear that the conventional and franchise models require big initial investments, while network marketing usually don’t. Also, on the network marketing business always the results come faster. Indeed. But if the network marketing is the solution, what would be the problem with it?

Later, on that same book he explains that doesn’t matter the chosen model, the key is the system used to run your business. As system he defines the whole set of procedures and tools used to run the business, and if they are not properly aligned you’ll always have an extra load of work to be done by yourself. Then I realize that I failed in my previous MLM experiences because the system wasn’t good for me.

Finding the Perfect System
